The Novell Filr desktop application for Windows and Mac allows users to synchronize Novell Filr files with their computers, and then modify the files without accessing the Filr site directly. Users can also create new files from their computers, which are then synchronized to Filr.
The Filr desktop application is included with the Filr appliance download, and can be configured as described in Setting Up the Filr Desktop Application in the Filr 2.0 Administration Guide. This separate download file is available to you to address any of the following scenarios:
Files on Demand:
Filr 2.0 Desktop Application introduces the Files on Demand feature that provides a consolidated or virtual view of all the files on the Filr server and your workstation. With Files on Demand, you do not have to download all the files from the server to your workstation. You can now download only the files you need just by accessing the file
New Platform Support:
Novell Filr provides three client interfaces: A web application, mobile applications, and a desktop application. The web application is available after your Filr system is installed and configured. The mobile applications can be downloaded from the appropriate app store.
